Roche Winemaker Dinner: First Customer Event at New Facility!

Our first customer event was held this past Saturday, July 15th at our soon-to-be-finished winery. The Roche family hosted 72 guests at our annual Winemaker Dinner featuring several of the family’s gold medal awarded wines and amazing dishes prepared by the Executive Chef at the Bistro Boudin.

It was all toasts, sips, bites and smiles at the 2017 Roche Winemaker Dinner held at our new winery site this past Saturday. Some 30 couples, who qualified for this year’s dinner by purchasing five (5) or more cases of futures since our event last year, enjoyed a wonderful complimentary five-course dinner perfectly paired with award-winning Roche wines. Also, in attendance with his wife and family members was Roche Winemaker, Michael Carr, who hosted this wonderful affair.

Customers dined under the clouds (literally!) as this event was hosted in the soon-to-be-completed Fermentation Building which does not yet have a roof. The construction crew worked tirelessly during the last few weeks to erect the building’s four exterior walls, helping to create the perfect space for our affair and allowing our customers to see already how the new winery is quickly coming to fruition. Then, they could envision what the interior of the building will look like in a matter of just a few weeks as our winemaker, Michael, spent 15 minutes explaining to the attendees where the administration offices, his wine lab, cat walks and, of course, the ever-important stainless-steel tanks will soon be located. A sizeable investment for the future of their brand, the Roche family will be bringing in 25 stainless tanks in the Tank Room to assist Michael with all areas of production. From extremely large to very small, these tanks will help Michael with the smallest lots of his delicate reds to his biggest Chardonnay lot: the ever-popular unoaked Chardonnay. Customers listened intently and, then, had an opportunity to ask Michael and the family questions about the construction of the future winery.

The Executive Chef at Bistro Boudin, Misael Reyes, presented a wonderful offering for our customers with each course paired with several award-winning Roche wines. The evening began with delicious passed appetizers, and dinner commenced with the first course of Tuna Tartar, followed with Seafood Paella, Veal Osso Buco, and for dessert, Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta.

We were very pleased with how wonderful this setting has already proven to be in our hosting of our first customer wine tasting event there. We look forward to welcoming all our Futures customers there for our 2017 Futures BBQ on August 12th & 13th and 19th and 20th. If you have not already received your invitation to this year’s BBQ, please contact the winery to see how you may qualify to receive an invitation to this complimentary event.

Can’t make the Futures BBQ’s? Perhaps book a stay at the Roche Winery Vacation Rental just steps away from the new winery. There you can personally see the daily progress on the construction of the new winery!
